Headmaster & Teacher
Jon serves as the headmaster of Veritas and teaches Latin. He also runs the Veritas BBQ club. Jon has worked in churches, ministries, and schools teaching Sunday school, Bible studies, and academic classes over his career. He earned his BA in Biblical Languages from Moody Bible Institute and his MA in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College. He also studied Hebrew in Jerusalem and Latin at Durham University, England. Before coming to Veritas in 2014, Jon served as a teacher and headmaster at a classical Christian school in Chicago for seven years. Besides reading and writing, Jon enjoys gardening, fly fishing, cooking, and playing music. Jon and his wife, Lesley, have four sons and attend Downtown Presbyterian Church.
Lower School Principal & 4th Grade Teacher
Sarah joined the staff of Veritas in 2014 and serves as the lower school principal and teaches 4th grade. She taught for eleven years in 1st, 3rd and 6-8 grades before staying home to raise her four children. Sarah earned her BA in elementary education from Northwestern College and MAs in Education from Hamline University and Reading Recovery from UNC Wilmington. She enjoys reading, taking walks as a family, and baking with her kids. Sarah and her husband, David, attend The Village Church.
Upper School Principal & Teacher
Adam serves as the upper school principal and also teaches humanities, logic, and Latin. He received his BA in biblical studies from Grove City College and his MA in historical theology from Wheaton College. Prior to coming to Veritas, Adam taught for nine years at a classical Christian school in Chicago. He also serves as a part-time proofreader for Crossway publishers. Adam and his wife Alexandra have two sons and one daughter. They attend Grace and Peace Presbyterian Church.
Director of Child Development and Guidance
Kacy has been a part of the Veritas community as a co-teacher since 2013. She and her husband, Trip, have three children at Veritas. Kacy has a B.S. in Biology from Furman University and a M.A. in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. She has experience in secondary science education and counseling children. Her family has lived in Greenville since 2007 and are members of Downtown Presbyterian Church.
Director of Admissions
Ginger received a BA in Sociology from Furman University. Prior to staying home to raise and co-teach her three children, Ginger worked in Development and Alumni Relations roles at National Cathedral School (Washington, D.C.) and Ensworth School (Nashville, TN). She and her husband, Ben, are founders of Veritas and members of Downtown Presbyterian Church. Ginger loves good food, good books and good friends.
Director of Operations
Jen is the grease and the wheels that make so many things run at Veritas! She is an amazing asset to the administrative team and faculty, tirelessly working to make sure all of our i’s are dotted and t’s crossed. Jen enjoys cooking and talking. She her husband, Jay, have two daughters and their family attends Grace Church.

Upper School Maths
Rose joined the Veritas faculty in 2016, but has been a co-teacher since 2014. She has a BS in psychology from Northwestern University and has taught middle school maths for 5 years and worked with youth for over 20 years. Rose’s hobbies include travel, running, reading old books, drinking coffee, hiking, and hanging out in downtown Greenville. Rose and her husband, Christopher, have two children, and they are members of Grace & Peace Presbyterian Church.
Upper School Sciences
Betsy joined the staff in 2018, returning to teaching after staying home to raise six children. She has a BS in Biology from Furman University. Betsy has been a co-teacher at Veritas since 2014. She enjoys planting flowers, reading, and running along with playing the piano. She and her family attend Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church.
Upper School Literature, History, & Poetry
Laura joined the staff in 2015, moving from Southern California, where she taught at a classical school for eleven years. She has a BA in Humanities with a minor in Biblical Studies from Biola University and spent a semester at The Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Oxford University. She also earned an MA in History from the University of California, Irvine. Laura is a member of Grace & Peace Presbyterian Church. She enjoys reading and spending time with her large extended family, but her passion is teaching.
Upper School Maths & Sciences
Angela joined the Veritas staff in the Upper School teaching Science and Math in 2019. While Angela considers herself a life-long learner, she graduated with a BS from Duke University (having studied Biology and Cultural Anthropology) and later with an MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed a residency in Dermatology at MUSC and a fellowship at Emory. Angela worked full-time as a physician until December 2017, and locum tenens after that. Angela enjoys a wide variety of interests, including teaching the Bible and music, and enjoying family, friends and nature. She and her husband, Kelby, have three children and are active members at Fellowship Greenville.
Upper School Composition, Logic, & Latin
Scott joined the faculty in 2018 after teaching in local public and charter schools and working for Reformed University Fellowship. He earned his BA in Biology at the University of South Carolina and is finishing an MFA in Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children as well as reading, writing, and watching sports. Scott and his wife are members of Grace & Peace Presbyterian Church.
Lower School Faculty
Heather joined the VPS faculty in 2015. She has a BA in elementary education and an MA in special education from Furman University. She also has an additional certification in early childhood education from Converse College. Prior to teaching at Veritas, Heather taught for six years with Greenville County Schools. She and her husband, Mike, have two children and attend North Hills Community Church. She enjoys running, snowboarding, hiking, and crafting.
Lauren joined the VPS faculty in 2018. She graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education from North Greenville University. She has also worked with the Children’s Museum of the Upstate and worked as an ESL teacher with students from China. Lauren enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading. She and her husband attend Brookwood Church.
Marianne joined the faculty in 2013. Marianne graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Early Childhood Education and has taught in Christian schools in the United States and Colombia. She and her husband, David, love living in Traveler’s Rest, hiking at Jones Gap, and walking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail as well as cooking and spending time with family. They attend Grace Church where they lead an adult small group and work with the youth group. Marianne especially loves watching students develop a love of reading.
Sharon joined the staff in 2013. She earned her BA in elementary education at Erskine College. In addition to working in public schools, Sharon and her husband, David, classically homeschooled their three daughters up through high school. Sharon enjoys gardening, sewing, reading, and hiking. She and her husband, David, attend Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) church, where David serves as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Membership.
Stacey joined the staff in 2015 after having taught both 2nd and 3rd grades in Greenville County Schools. She earned her BS in elementary education from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. Stacey and her husband, Mike, have two daughters and a son and enjoy swimming and boating on Lake Keowee. They attend Greenville First Church of the Nazarene.
Amanda joined our faculty in 2015 and has experience teaching Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 5th grades. She earned her BA from Virginia Tech and M.Ed from the University of Virginia. Amanda and her husband, Sacha, have three boys and a daughter and enjoy spending time together outdoors. They attend Grace Church in Powdersville, where Amanda helps welcome and connect visitors to the church.
Farah joined the faculty in 2017. Farah has a BA from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and an MA from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. She loves to travel and has taught English on 4 continents. She and her husband, Doug, have six children. Before joining Veritas she classically homeschooled her children. As a family they love to cook (eat!) and host get-togethers. They attend Downtown Presbyterian Church.
Sue joined the faculty in 2018. She earned her BA in Elementary Education from Duke and her MA in Special Education from UNC Greensboro and has taught for over 20 years in the elementary grades. When not making memories with her children and grandchildren, Sue enjoys running, biking, and hiking, as well as gardening and cooking. She and her husband attend Grace Church.
4th and 5th Grade Sciences
Megan joined the faculty in 2017. She has been part of the Veritas community since 2013 as a co-teacher. Megan has a Bachelor of Science from from Emory University. Her hobbies are traveling, reading and drinking tea (preferably all at the same time). She and her husband, Rhett, have four children who love visiting new places as much as they do. They are members of Christ the Redeemer.
Carrie joined the faculty in 2018. She earned her BA in Business and English at North Greenville College. In addition to her work as an accountant and financial analyst in Greenville and Washington DC, Carrie has been a co-teacher of her children since 2015. She enjoys traveling, reading, hiking and running, and spending time with her family. The Gambles attend Greenville ARP church.
Laura joined the faculty in 2018. She earned her BA in French at Wofford and earned an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University. She has also done additional study in education at Georgia State University. Laura has raised and homeschooled four children and taught classes from from pre-K to middle school level during her career. She and her husband attend St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.
Sarah joined Veritas in 2019 as a 5th grade teacher. She earned her MA in Education and BA in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, and has been teaching for fifteen years. She and her husband Jerry are both from Columbia, but have loved living in the upstate for the last decade. They enjoy music, movies, hiking, dining out, and being Aunt & Uncle to seventeen nieces & nephews. They live with their pit-boxer mix, Jolie, and are active members at Grace & Peace Presbyterian Church.
Fine Arts Faculty
Lauren joined the Veritas faculty in 2015. She earned her BA in Musical Arts from Dallas Baptist University in 2004. Lauren has taught private voice and piano lessons, as well as preschool music classes since graduating, while staying home to raise her two sons. Lauren has also served on many music ministry teams and enjoys leading worship. Her family attends Grace Church.
Tina joined the Veritas faculty in 2017. She is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in Art. Tina has a marketing background and has taught preschool and elementary art as well as private lessons. She and her husband, Ben, have two boys. Tina enjoys spending time with her family, painting, crocheting, reading, coffee, and volunteering. She has a passion for sharing Jesus with others and bringing out the artist in everyone. Her family attends Brookwood Church.
